CarPay-Diem Partners With ZF Friedrichshafen To Allow In-Car Fueling Transactions | #Luxembourg #StartUPs #Apps #Europe

CarPay-Diem Partners With ZF Friedrichshafen To Allow In-Car Fueling Transactions | #Luxembourg #StartUPs #Apps #Europe | Luxembourg (Europe) | Scoop.it
During the CES in Las Vegas, ZF Friedrichshafen, a leading car systems supplier announced the selection of CarPay-Diem to be added to its Car eWallet solution as a service provider for fueling capabilities.

Over the last months, ZF in partnership with UBS and IBM has been in development of the Car eWallet, a mobility transaction platform, that allows a full end-to-end integration of mobility services, vehicles and infrastructure. It will enable secure and convenient payments ‘on the go’ for services like parking, charging and now fueling based on CarPay-Diems technology.

“Connecting the Car eWallet technology to the CarPay-Diem platform will allow connected and in the future autonomous cars to pay for the fuel refills while providing the greatest driver experience.”

Thanks to this partnership, when a car equipped with the Car eWallet arrives in a fuel station, the driver selects his pump number on the display of the dashboard, he is then invited to refill the tank. When the nozzle is placed back on the pump the transaction is completed. CarPay-Diem managed the fuel station processes and confirmed the driver that he can leave the fuel station. A simple and straight forward user experience which conveniently saves time for drivers. All refill transactions remain available in the Car eWallet for later use or reporting purpose for example.

Doctena Takes Over Terminland | #Acquisitions #Luxembourg buys out #Germany | Luxembourg (Europe) | Scoop.it
Europe’s market leader continues to grow. Medical booking platform Doctena takes over the health sector customer base of Terminland. Doctena, Europe’s leading platform for the online booking of doctors is again on a rapid growth path. The booking specialist and technology leader with headquarters in Luxembourg is taking over the health care customers of the German based provider, Terminland, as part of an asset deal. With the strategic acquisition of the medical segment of Terminland, which also offers online booking services for other industries, Doctena now offers access to the appointments of approximately 5,000 registered physicians and dentists in Germany and 7,000 physicians in Europe. The sale price was not disclosed by the contracting partners.

“Terminland is one of the leading cross-industry online appointment providers and has a high quality customer base. This deal is another milestone in our dual corporate strategy, which focuses on both organic and inorganic growth through acquisitions. In this way, we can further expand our European market leadership. Doctors and patients benefit from the growing importance of the efficiency of online booking.” – Patrick Kersten, founder and CEO of Doctena

The company, which was founded in Luxembourg in 2013, acquired the Belgian platform Docbook early last year and also took over the German portal Doxter. With the recent purchase, Doctena is now strongly positioned in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland.

National Commemoration Day to Celebrate Local Heroism in WWII | #Luxembourg #Europe #History

National Commemoration Day to Celebrate Local Heroism in WWII | #Luxembourg #Europe #History | Luxembourg (Europe) | Scoop.it
Tomorrow will mark this year’s National Day of Commemoration in Luxembourg, which commemorates Nazi oppression during the Second World War.

Every year since 1946, the National Day of Commemoration has invited the people of Luxembourg to remember the Nazi oppression from 1940 to 1945. The new Committee for the Remembrance of the Second World War, voluntarily placing itself in this tradition, has since proposed to the government to continue honouring the memory of all those who opposed the oppressor in national solidarity.

The commemorative date of 10 October symbolises the patriotic reaction of most Luxembourgers against attempts to integrate the Grand Duchy into the German Reich through the "Personenstandsaufnahme" of 10 October 1941.

This year marked the 75th anniversary of the Gauleiter's proclamation of 30 August 1942 of the forced recruitment of Luxembourg's youth, the subsequent strike and the beginning of political deportations from the Hollerich station as of 17 September 1942, during which seven youth age groups were sacrificed.
