Luxembourgish crémants have won a total of 21 gold medals at the National Crémant Competition of France and Luxembourg which was held in southeast France on Friday 24 May 2019.

The awards ceremony of the 28th edition of the National Crémant Competition of France and Luxembourg took place last Friday in Die in the Drôme department of France.

The Luxembourg Moselle is the only wine region with the right to present its samples to this competition, in addition to the regions of Alsace, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Limoux, Loire, Die, Jura and Savoie. Once again, Luxembourg winegrowers have shown that their products should no longer hide behind the competition. At more than 40 tables, the crémants were tasted blindly by different representatives of the wine regions in four sub-categories (Blanc Brut, Blanc Brut Millésimé, Rosé Brut, Blanc de Noirs Brut). The tasters of the Luxembourg crémants appreciated the approximately 80 samples presented.

In all, Luxembourg's crémants managed to attract 21 gold and 6 silver medals from the Moselle. The Luxembourg delegation, made up of representatives of the Domaines Vinsmoselle cooperative, private winegrowers, trade, the press and the wine institute, was delighted with the results of the award ceremony.

The 2018 Hachette Guide gives awards to the best Luxembourgish wines.
The new edition of the famous Hachette guide awarded four "coup de cœur" (best picks) prizes to Luxembourg winemakers.

Every year, the Hachette Wine Guide presents its ranking of wines selected in France, Switzerland and the Grand Duchy. And the result of national winemakers doesn't need to shy away -four cuvées won over the jury and had the honour of being awarded with the "coup de cœur" distinction.

And the winners are ...
The four coups de cœurs are awarded to:

Paul Legill Cellars (Schengen), Auxerrois 2016, old vines, Coteaux de Schengen, Grand premier cru

Clos des Rochers Wine Estate (Grevenmacher, Pinot gris);
St. Remy-Desom Cellars (Remich, Pinot gris);
Vinsmoselle Wine Estates (Stadtbredimus, Riesling);

Vinsmoselle Wine Estates (Remerschen, Crémant de Luxembourg);
Paul Legill Wine Estates (Schengen, Crémant de Luxembourg);
Cep d’or Wine Estate (Hëttermillen, Crémant de Luxembourg);

Among wines and sparkling wines, 9 have been awarded two stars, and six have been awarded one star.

Being listed in the Hachette Wine Guide is somewhat like winning an Oscar. Indeed, the French guide is THE reference for experts and amateurs of wines and sparkling wines. So it's obvious that the 2018 edition will spread further the fame enjoyed by Luxembourgish wines among winelovers everywhere.

Ce mardi 5 juillet, la Chambre de Commerce a tenu une conférence de presse dédiée essentiellement à la formation, organisée en marge de son Assemblée plénière qui s’est déroulée au Lycée technique de Lallange à Esch-sur-Alzette. A cette occasion, les dirigeants de la Chambre de Commerce ont plaidé pour des systèmes d’enseignement et de formation plus performants au Luxembourg. Un accent particulier a été mis sur l’évaluation de la mise en œuvre de la réforme de la formation professionnelle et sur le rôle de la Chambre de Commerce en tant qu’acteur fédérateur sur le marché de la formation continue et universitaire. La Chambre de Commerce a également présenté ses différentes initiatives visant à promouvoir l’esprit d’entreprendre auprès d’un large public,  telles que la «Relation Ecole-Entreprise», l’ISEC-HdW (Institut supérieur de l’Economie – Hochschule der Wirtschaft), ou encore le projet «Fit4Entrepreneurship».

«Savoir pour agir» ist das Motto unter dem die Präsentation der neuen mobilen Anwendung «Meng Loft» steht, die über die Luftqualität in Luxemburg in Echtzeit informiert. «Die App ist ein echter Fortschritt im nationalen Programm zur Verbesserung der Luft in Luxemburg», sagt Umweltministerin Carole Dieschbourg (Deí Gréng) am heutigen Montag anlässlich einer Pressekonferenz.

Die App kann kostenlos für Apple- oder Androidgeräte heruntergeladen werden. «Meng Loft» misst die aktuelle Verschmutzung in der Luft und gibt das Ergebnis der Analyse in Echtzeit mit einem Farbcode auf das Endgerät des Benutzers aus. Dies gebe jedem Nutzer die Möglichkeit «in voller Kenntnis aller Fakten über die aktuelle Luftverschmutzung zu handeln», so die Umweltministerin weiter.

Vielseitige Anwendungsmöglichkeiten

Nach dem Start der Anwendung zeigt diese einen Index an, der auf Grundlage der Konzentrationen von Ozon (O3) (hauptsächlich in ländlichen Gebieten vorhanden), Stickstoffdioxid (NO2) und Feinstaub (PM10) (hauptsächlich im Stadtverkehr) berechnet wird. In einer farblich kodierten Anzeige, die zusätzlich mit den Werten von eins bis zehn versehen ist, wird die Luftqualität am Standort des Nutzers angezeigt. «Die eins ist blau markiert und steht für eine sehr gute Luftqualität, die zehn ist dunkelrot und deutet auf sehr schlechte Werte hin», erklärt Dieschbourg.
