Changes to Luxembourg national day celebrations | Luxembourg (Europe) | Scoop.it
A traditional religious ceremony held to mark Luxembourg national day is to be retained but shifted to the evening, Luxembourg's ministers decided on Wednesday.

Whilst they said festivities should remain civilian and military-focused, they agreed that the “Te Deum” service, traditionally held in the morning at Luxembourg's “Notre Dame” cathedral, be postponed to the evening of June 23.

"Te Deum will not happen again in the morning but in the evening after the military parade," Prime Minister Xavier Bettel told RTL after the meeting.

In another change this year, official celebrations will be hosted in the morning at the “Grand Théâtre” where the Prime Minister and the President of the Chamber of Deputies will give speeches.
