[PDF] A comprehensive AI Policy Education Framework for University Teaching and Learning | Educational technology | Scoop.it

This study aims to develop an AI education policy for higher education by examining the perceptions and implications of text generative AI technologies. Data was collected from 457
students and 180 teachers and staff across various disciplines in Hong Kong universities, using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Based on the findings, the study proposes an AI Ecological Education Policy Framework to address the multifaceted implications of AI integration in university teaching and learning. This framework is organized into three dimensions: Pedagogical, Governance, and Operational.

The Pedagogical dimension concentrates on using AI to improve teaching and learning outcomes, while the Governance dimension tackles issues related to privacy, security, and accountability. The Operational dimension addresses matters concerning infrastructure and training.

The framework fosters a nuanced understanding of the implications of AI integration in academic settings, ensuring that stakeholders are aware of their responsibilities and can take appropriate actions accordingly.

MOOCs 2.0: Scaling One-on-One Learning | Educational technology | Scoop.it
In the summer of 2011, massive open online courses, or MOOCs, appeared seemingly out of nowhere and changed the education landscape forever. In many ways, MOOCs are like the troublemakers in Apple’s legendary “Think Different” ad: You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is…

How Traditional Industries Can Adopt EdTech’s Innovation - TechZulu | Educational technology | Scoop.it
The technology industry moves fast -- so fast that it has a model called Moore’s Law that projects how technological power essentially doubles every year. However, if you look at traditional industries such as real estate, accounting, and insurance, innovation tends to come much slower, particularly when it comes to implementing new technology or adopting major shifts.

Via enrique rubio royo
enrique rubio royo's curator insight, April 25, 2015 1:59 PM

The differences between eLearning and Distance Learning

The differences between eLearning and Distance Learning | Educational technology | Scoop.it

There are lots of terms out there when it comes to new styles of learning. If you’re looking to create new courses or new methods to deliver training, it can feel over complicated. What’s the difference between eLearning and distance learning? Does it even matter? Which is better? We’ve teamed up with the tutors from Assignment help to understand the difference between the two once and for all. Here’s what you need to know, and how you can use them to your advantage.

Via Edumorfosis, juandoming, LGA
Oskar Almazan's curator insight, June 4, 2017 5:02 AM
What Is eLearning? eLearning is any kind of learning that includes technology to help the learner. This can include videos, touch screen technology, online tools, or any other kind of media. What most people don’t realise about eLearning is that it can happen right in the classroom. The term just refers to the tools used. That being said, eLearning can be used when teacher and student are separated too. What is distance learning? Distance learning, as the term implies, is where the student and the teacher are separated. This is usually used in more formal settings, and one party is usually present. This is more often than not the teacher, who is delivering a class to the students who are present. This type of learning is particularly useful when one student cannot be there physically, due to illness or distance.

Carlos Fosca's curator insight, June 4, 2017 4:39 PM

"If the two concepts are so different, what does that mean for you? Well, it means that you have a lot of options when it comes to creating your own learning materials.

Gone are the days of creating worksheets and relying on PowerPoint presentations. You can now create materials to encourage learners to actually lean in and get involved with what’s happening."
