The European Commission has just published the final report of the study "ICT for Work: Digital Skills in the Workplace" on the impact of information and communication technologies (ICT) on the transformation of jobs and skills.
The evidence shows that digital technologies are used in all types of jobs, also in economic sectors not traditionally related to digitisation e.g. farming, health care, vocational training and construction.

Today the studies about how to grow in different jobs are important for us as teachers, since we also prepare students to face laboral life.This study show something that is evident but not many people are prepared to recognise it, ICT is neccesary in every job, including teachers, How much is going to take till we open our eyes to the new age that includes technology? when we do it, we are going to increase productivity and as teachers we are going to increase students' interests, views and knowledge

For years, Finland has been the by-word for a successful education system, perched at the top of international league tables for literacy and numeracy. . Pasi Silander, the city’s development manager, explained: “What we need now is a different kind of education to prepare people for working life. . “Young people use quite advanced computers. In the past the banks had lots of bank clerks totting up figures but now that has totally changed. . “We therefore have to make the changes in education that are necessary for industry and modern society.” . Subject-specific lessons – an hour of history in the morning, an hour of geography in the afternoon – are already being phased out for 16-year-olds in the city’s upper schools. They are being replaced by what the Finns call “phenomenon” teaching – or teaching by topic. For instance, a teenager studying a vocational course might take “cafeteria services” lessons, which would include elements of maths, languages (to help serve foreign customers), writing skills and communication skills. . More academic pupils would be taught cross-subject topics such as the European Union - which would merge elements of economics, history (of the countries involved), languages and geography. . The world around us is not labelled or divided in categories, then why is academic content? Can we not relate topics and elaborate meaning on the basis of relationships and intertwined data?

I wonder if this would work in the U.S.? Also, in Finland, students do not take standardized tests until the end of high school (Zhao, 2012, p. 111), so thankfully, perhaps the drill and kill process is diminished. *Zhao, Y. (2012). World Class Learners.

Sous le slogan «Digital4Education», l’Éducation nationale luxembourgeoise a entrepris de concentrer son approche en matière de nouvelles technologies. Divisée en cinq pôles «digitaux» (Peer, Citizen, Entrepreneur, Worker et Learner), la stratégie publique veut aider ses jeunes ressortissants à se familiariser avec l’outil informatique à toutes les étapes de leur vie.
On y trouve de la sensibilisation à la cybersécurité, des makerspaces où les lycéens sont libres d’expérimenter avec des imprimantes 3D, un accès gratuit à la suite MS Office pour les professeurs,ou encore des salles de cours digitales. Derrière de nombreux concepts d’apprentissage se trouve bien souvent le Script, ou Service de coordination de la recherche et de l’innovation pédagogique et technologique, adossé au ministère de l’Éducation. «Nous devons et nous souhaitons être à l’avant-poste de la révolution numérique», introduit Luc Weis, directeur du Script depuis septembre 2015, lui-même ancien enseignant. «L’éducation ne fonctionne pas en vase clos. Oktober fand im Alvisse Hotel in Dommeldange die erste „Cryptoparty for Kids“ im Rahmen der Hack.lu statt.An die zwanzig Kinder im Alter von 7 bis 12 hatten sich zu diesem BEE SECURE Event eingefunden und erhielten umfassende Erklärungen zu den gegenwärtigen Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien und wie sie sich mit existierenden Sicherheits-Methoden gegen Gefahren im Internet schützen können.
