Online education may seem like something new, but it has actually been around for more than twenty years. Those who have never tried it may feel like it is not "as good as real school". If your only experience with online learning was the forced, rushed transition that occurred with the Covid-19 pandemic, you may have a distaste for it. However, once you try a structured, planned, online course - you may find out you like it. 

This article is actually written for Florida Virtual School, but the information is relevant for any online platform.
